Requesting Fingerprinting
Non-criminal and applicant fingerprinting is done by the department’s Records Bureau. Fingerprinting: Fingerprints are available for Taylor residents only. Call 734-374-1510 for an appointment. For 23rd District Court ordered requests, report to the Police Department Front Desk. All other requests can be processed through LI Identix Solutions. Information sheets are available in the police department lobby. Contact the Records Bureau for more information.
U.S. Citizenship & Immigration
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Office in Detroit requires that prints be taken by them for U.S. immigration purposes.
Electronic Submission
Fingerprints that require electronic submission to the State of Michigan or FBI must be done by Identix by appointment at 866-226-2952, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Child Fingerprinting Identification Kits
Child fingerprinting is done, by special request, through the Crime Prevention Section of the Investigative Services Division at 734-374-1420. This is generally done in conjunction with a special event, such as National Night Out, and school and community events. There is no charge for child fingerprinting, but the child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. In some instances, a take-home do-it-yourself fingerprint packet may be given to the parent
